Elvira Castañeda de Casamayor, born October 9, 1932 in Cienaga, Colombia, to Mariano Castañeda and Juanita Miranda, died on March 24, 2020 in Houston, Texas.

A funeral service was held on March 26, 2020 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott Street in Houston, Texas.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date, when gathering is once again permissible. The family kindly requests charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, in lieu of flowers. A special gratitude goes out to her at-home caregivers and the medical personnel of UTMB Hospital in Webster, Texas, and The Medical Resort at Bay Area in Pasadena, Texas.
